The Kardashev Scale

Updated: Apr 22

Understanding Reality

The Kardashev scale is method in which different civilizations are categorized according to their advancement in technologies and the energy they are able to use. This was first proposed by Soviet astronomer Nikolai Kardashev in 1964.

As we know that our universe is 13.8 billion years old and life originates in different spam of time at different locations in the universe, yet we haven’t found any evidence of life in other planets but many solar systems and exoplanets had been discovered which had atmosphere that supports life but we are not yet capable of travelling such a long distance of several lightyears (not even a single lightyear). The universe is so big that we cant even imagine its vastness; if we somehow discovered that there can be possibility of existence of life in any other galaxy; or in other solar system of our own milky way galaxy, then also they are extremely far that we cannot contact them via any possible means of technology that exists at present, even if we send radio signal or any signal that travels at the speed of light or near to it, then also it will take few million years to reach there and after travelling such a long distance the signal will become so weak or there can be probability that it will become some distorted noise that the receiver don’t understand.
